The Weller TC205 sponge is a safe and effective method for cleaning solder tips. The TC205 is designed to fit into the Weller WEP 70 safety rest, but the sponge is 2.5"Inches x 2.5"Inches and can be cut down to universally fit into most solder iron stands. Authentic TC205 sponges also utilize small slits in the sponge to effectivly clean just the tip. Please note that these sponges ship flat, and require a little bit of water (preferably distilled) to "puff" the sponge up prior to use.
