Travels in China 1966-71 Hardcover – January 1, 1973

Very good hardcover, first edition / printing. Green boards w white font, white linen spine with gold font, dust jacket unclipped, noted shelf wear, especially at top spine with some minor (and repaired) tears, corners chipped, now under mylar wrap and looks very neat. 588 pps and b/w photos. Book has former owner's stamp on title page (he was a noted Princeton artist), no additional writing or marks, pages tight and clean. The author, "Rewi Alley was a prolific western writer about 20th century China, and especially about the Communist revolution. He dedicated 60 years of his life to the cause of the Communist Party of China, and was a key figure in the establishment of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives, and technical training schools." His background makes this an especially interesting and unusual book and more than just about travel in China almost 50 years ago. A good read. Read more
