Learn about his upbringing in West Overton Village in western Pennsylvania, how he began in business, his frugality, faith and trust in the free enterprise system and the people of the United States of America. He was an organizational genius that partnered with Andrew Carnegie and later was key in establishing US Steel. He was grieving for the loss of his children and all the while faced public scrutiny as unions were attempting to make root in his businesses which he vehemently opposed. He was publicly denounced for the Johnstown Flood and the Homestead Strike. He found solace spending time with his family and in collecting art. At the end of his life Henry Clay Frick had amassed one the greatest collections of art that he bequeathed to the public. Henry Clay Frick was a man of faith and good nature who demonstrated personal responsibility in his family life and professional life. He was grateful to his employees, friends and family. He never forgot where he came from and enriched his hometown, Mount Pleasant, with a park, containing a state-of-the-art telescope and creating "Home Town Week", a time of celebration with a parade and provided decorations made from coal.
