The Chemglass CLS-4033-100 Versa Rock benchtop digital, rocking base shaker uses 100 to 240V at speeds between 5 to 30 rocks per minute, and has an adjustable tilt angle between 5 to 14°, an LED display, a speed control knob, a peg and grommet design for attaching aluminum trays (sold separately), and a 24V brushless low-maintenance DC motor and controller. The rocking action of this shaker provides an up and down seesaw motion with an adjustable rate of motion and an adjustable tilt angle for precise mixing results. The LED displays both angle and speed, and the speed control knob has a lock feature. The base has a 24V brushless, low-maintenance, DC motor with a non-slip, toothed belt design for long life. The unit operates with AC power using the included adapter. Applications for this shaker base include general laboratory cell culture work. The peg and grommet design allows for attaching interchangeable 12 x 12 inches, 15 x 15 inches, and 20 x 20 inches (W x D) aluminum trays (sold separately). These devices can be analog or digital and are typically an automated, electrically powered, countertop unit that shakes liquid in lab containers, such as flasks, funnels, or test tubes. Some shakers can operate inside fume hoods, incubators, refrigerators, or other laboratory devices, and can include controls for the frequency and/or degree of movement. The types of shakers include: orbital, rocking, rolling, rotating, and wrist action. The most common orbital shaker provides a smooth, continuous, circular motion, sometimes with a tilt angle, for uniform mixing of contents. The rocking shaker creates gentle uniform mixing with a see-saw, or up and down, motion. Reciprocating, or rolling, shakers provide a horizontal side-to-side motion with simple agitation of samples. A rotating, or rotisserie, shaker provides samples with a rotating action that moves in a circular motion. Wrist-action shakers duplicate the effect of hand mixing with "arms" on each side of the unit. Some shakers have the ability to incubate or refrigerate samples while providing shaking action.Chemglass manufactures laboratory glassware and equipment. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Vineland, NJ.
