The Lamprey Hardware #14 Expansion Plug is designed for openings that measure 3.25 to 3.5 inches. It fits 3" PVC fittings and couplings only and does NOT fit inside any 3" pipe, including Schedule 40 PVC, cast iron, copper, steel, or galvanized pipe. The sealing area of the plug measures 3.40 inches in diameter and expands up to 3.60 inches when tightened, creating a strong, secure seal. When fully tightened, Lamprey expansion plugs provide up to 55% greater tightness compared to conventional expansion plugs. Common uses include plugging drains and sewers, kitchen sink openings, and closing swimming pools during maintenance or winterizing.
